Über das Buch
Images of natural beauty promote health because we are genetically predisposed to respond in a positive way to those images. Such positive responses equate to a reduction of stress; reduced stress promotes the healing process, reduces recovery time, even the need for pain medications. With a generation of aging and more informed patients poised to enter the healthcare system in the next decade, it’s the right time to incorporate these concepts into the practice of healthcare design.

Evidence-based Art is based upon the principles of Evidence-based Design, and making design decisions on the best available information. There is a small, but significant body of research today on the impact of art on clinical and behavioral outcomes of patients in healthcare settings.
