Über das Ebook
This is an illustrated chapter book suitable for readers aged 8-12. The illustrations are all in black and white apart from one, which is also the front cover. The book is a sequel to Jake and The Smugglers. After his adventures with the smuggling cats in the first book, and Jake's discovery of a key in a coconut from a fair and a key given to him as a reward from the Queen, he finds a message in a bottle which tells him about two keys which will open doors to hidden treasure; the lost crown jewels of King John. Jake goes out by himself despite a warning of acid rain, to see if he can find this treasure, hidden in a well, which is approached via tunnels underneath Roedean school and on the way bumps into Dr Hooker (a vicar and leading smuggler), who controls the smuggling cats of the village. Dr Hooker is also after the treasure. Jake manages to escape from Hooker and with the help of his old friend Badger gets into the tunnels underneath Roedean, via the artist Edward Burne Jones's house. Here he meets Lara, a goth, and victim of bullying, who helps Jake to stow the treasure away. Bunbun, Jake's aunt's cat, meets them in the tunnels and they work together as a team to outwit the evil Dr Hooker.

I'm a self taught writer and illustrator. My day job is teaching- currently in secondary education as a supply. These books about Jake are inspired by my nephew and were for him. They were also inspired by my love of the undercliff path, the downs, Rottingdean and its smuggling history and last but not least, my black and white cat, Bunbun.
