Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Cassandra Stancil Gunkel, PhD, is a folklorist, textile artist and expert in material culture. She has curated numerous exhibits of quilts and textile arts. As a Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Teaching Artist, she designs and delivers arts curriculum for K-12 and adult populations. Her own art has been exhibited widely, including Allentown Art Museum, the African American Museum of Philadelphia, Mercer Museum, the Bucks County Visitors Center. and international exhibits at the International Print Center of New York, Arts Print Residence (Spain) and International Quilt Extravaganza (Oaks, PA).
