Margaret Stocks is a twelve-year-old girl that has to keep down the bile when she hears about "responsibility"; she feels like it's one big scam. Until, that is, she falls into a washing machine and comes out the other side in Sockland, land of lost socks.
There, she learns that it may be HER responsibility to save them all from the Argyle Sock, its strange and terrifying ruler.
She will be tested, she will have to make difficult choices about herself and the odd creatures she befriends, and she will have to find the strength to take up the biggest responsibility of her life.
Maggie learns that the meaning of the word "responsibility" isn't doing dishes, cleaning your room or homework.
