Mixed media is Doris’ favorite favorite form of painting . She loves exploring with textures, shapes, and a more contemporary look. She creates her own designs on stamps that she uses to create texture in her paintings. Nature and the world around her inspires Doris. Her love of texture won her the Allessandra Bisselli Award with the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver. Her knowledge of contemporary art was explored in her article on Abstract Art in Art Avenues, the Federation of Canadian Artists Newsletter in 2003.
