I was born in Prague in 1973. I began working as a professional photographer at the age of 21. After completing my secondary education at Geodesy I studied at the Prague School of Photography.Whilst still a student, I started working as a photographer for a magazine called ANO, later moving on to the MF Dnes newspaper. Between 2001 and 2008 I was employed by the Lidové Noviny daily newspaper, also working on a long-term basis as official photographer for the Dejvické Divadlo theatre. In 2008 I began working for Euro, a weekly magazine specialising in economics.I regularly participates in international and national photographic competitions and in 2002 was awarded second prize in the Czech Press Photography Competition for my reportage of flooding in the town of Terezín and then, in 2007, third prize for my reportage ‘Agent Orange’. In 2008 I received first prize in this same competition in the category Nature and Environment for my series of pictures entitled ‘Zoo in Moscow"
