This portrait collection had been made during the 2017-2018 cyclocross season in the Basque Country. I chose the rainy and muddiest days to take the portraits, few seconds after they cross the finish line. The reactions when I put the camera so close while their hearts pump so hard and they can't feel the frozen hands are unique.
