A book about the coveted series of large format charcoal drawings (2011-14) by artist Renata Fernandez. "These drawings are very attractive, their presence unavoidable. They could also be dark and broody. They present a dichotomy and a metaphor. All is good, and so it seems, with this exotic and exuberant flora. Yet these drawings appear also threatening. The effect on some viewers is rather revealing: “Are there any faces hiding there, any people, among the foliage?".
