"A Waking Dream"

"Constantly resurrected, renewed, rising from cold ashes, rebuilt, re-formed, I seem to pass from episode to episode, lifetime to lifetime, destroyed yet reborn, dying yet living, lost in a lull then springing to action. This is my life. This is how it's always been. I take comfort in knowing that this is the rhythm of everything around me. Nothing is still for long. Nothing is changeless. Sound and light pulse between extremes. The seasons play the visible world like an instrument, creating an ever changing composition that is never the same. Emotions rock our inner world, wash over us with highs and lows. The circumstances of our life aren't static for long.
Always I go through periods of depression or sickness or inertia. These things make me turn inward, shut off ambition, spend my time in observation and contemplation. Then there's the new beginning. A new path, a new way, forcing myself to fight against the doldrums, the resignation. And the world become fresh, clean again! The past gone.
That is the time to embark upon a new quest, to conjure a new vision. New images, new songs, new poems, new stories.
It's all part of this "Waking Dream" which is my life."
