In late October 2016 we began a two week journey to the Galapagos islands and then to mainland Ecuador. We travelled on the National Geographic Islander around the islands. Then we returned to Quito and made a journey through the Valley of the Volcanoes to Cotopaxi, Riobamba, Alausi, Cuenca and finally across the Andes down to the coast at Guayaquil for our flight home. It was a trip packed with wildlife, scenery and culture. This book hopes to give a flavour of our experience.
