I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer with a special interest in the ocean coast in the San Francisco Bay Area. Digital cameras, and the availability of software to manipulate images from those cameras were the starting point of my interest in photography six years ago. Water is a source of inspiration for me. There's a special feeling when I'm near an ocean, a river or even a small tumbling creek; It's like meditation. Often, just being at a location - feeling the wind, hearing the waves and watching the light change - is enough. If I make a good picture, it’s a bonus. The coast has a particularly strong attraction for me. The ocean takes on moods or, perhaps, reflects my mood. I want my pictures to be more than a basic capture of a scene. A picture from the camera without adjustments does not convey the feeling I experienced when I took the picture. My goal is to refine the image so that it reflects what I was feeling at the time I took the picture.
