I work professionally in the world of scientific photography, but at other times I return to the natural world to photograph quiet and simple things well defined by light. The circular swirl in a sand dune or the smooth surface of a placid lake captivate me. My focus also extends to figurative subjects, seeking graceful smoothness and curving arcs. Both natural world subjects are intriguing when seen in soft lighting or hidden in deep shadow.
