When I envisioned this project it seemed a fairly straight forward concept. My task began with photographing Hong Kong's famous neon filled streets whilst adding my own expression being amongst the densely packed streets. Ideas changed gradually then progressed to a more abstract expression of the patterns and features on display all around. An almost claustrophobic feeling ensued whilst capturing these images and there was no doubt that the society below had contributed to the hyper capitalistic sky above. Every gap and glimpse of sky has been transformed to suit the needs of the money flow. What had started as a basic project developed into a direct expression of my anxiety and sense of being constrained. With little else to see apart from artificial light, constant noise and the fumes of bus filled roads, my perception of this vibrant city changed.
