Carmel travelled a winding path to achieve her lifelong dream of authoring children's books, but the twists and turns are a testament to her passion for youth of all ages, writing and education. After qualifying as a teacher (B.Ed. Monash University), Carmel held a range of positions that honed her insights into the hearts and minds of children. She cared for babies to 3 year olds in day care; 3 to 5 year olds in kindergartens and supported primary school kids and teens in Community Youth Programs. Later, as Director of her own company, she produced e-Learning units (online courses) for various clients. She certainly enjoyed these roles, but her dream to write and illustrate children's books continued to smoulder in the background. In 2016 Carmel finally set her inner author free. The result is a fun storybook titled, Little and Lost. Carmel is fascinated with online virtual worlds, in fact it's where she creates the 3D sets and characters for her children's book illustrations.
