Starting after the First World War and continuing after the Second, the policy of providing decent and affordable housing has been a cornerstone of Viennese policy. This resulted in hindreds of modern housing complexes around the city, often with remarkable architecture. And yet, these massive complexes sometimes produce an unpleasant anonymous atmosphere, an area of urban devastation, found in Vienna and elsewhere in the world. This photographic project conciously balances between the reality of descriptive architectural recording and personal, subjective statement.
