My thesis project is a way for me to connect with my aunt who passed at a tragically young age. In artistically and spiritually interacting with Lizzie, I gain a sense of knowing her that I feel I was robbed of. Making this work is a way for me to mourn and celebrate Lizzie’s short life. I think that by using multiple visual devices to deepen the symbolism in my images, they have become stronger and helped me connect to Lizzie. In creating this work for Lizzie, I can get a feel for her spirit and come to know the young person she was.
