Helen Hill, filmmaker and activist, was murdered on 4 January 2007. She left a husband and two-year-old son. This book is a collection of her photographs and postcards that she called "Poppy Updates" written to her parents. They show an intimate, loving appraisal of her new son. They are full of spontaneous wonder and appreciation of his uniqueness. They show honesty and confidence in her motherhood, her new job as his "nearly-constant companion." They make up a collection of love letters for her son.
