Über das Buch
1910, Colonel George Washington Brackenridge deeds 500 acres of Colorado River-front property to the University of Texas at Austin. Present day, a 368-acre portion of that undeveloped, native land still belongs to the University. 2008, the Board of Regents hires a New York firm to develop conceptual master plans for the potential development of the land. 2011, the Board approves to allow the City of Austin lease on the property to expire at the end of its term. 2013, the students of Juan Miró’s advanced design studio publish The Brackenridge Tract, an exploration of innovative master plan concepts for the land. 2015, the students of Juan Miró’s second studio on this subject publish this sequel exploring innovative community designs. 2019, the City of Austin’s lease on the property will expire. The future of the Brackenridge Tract rests in the hands of the University of Texas Board of Regents
