A Canadian Broadcaster's story. I had already flunked CFRA's audition out of radio school but I thought for fun I’d give it another try. I was warned by all my colleagues in the business not to go to CFRA. It had a reputation as a graveyard for morning men—they had gone through seven in the past two years.
“I'll be back in 20 minutes,” I said.
Four hours later, and $6,000.00 per year, I was heading back to Moncton to give my notice. On June 23, 1961, CFRA became my life, my home and my community for almost 40 years.
