"Sometimes we can have the most amazing experiences during our darkest periods. That is precisely why I chose to write this journal of my time in South Africa. I went out there for two weeks to take part in local wildlife conservation efforts and to learn new skills, but in those two weeks I discovered what it meant to be me at a time when I felt disconnected from everything. Alongside my own journey, I experienced many things whilst out in South Africa that were too special not to share, from a skirmish with a giraffe to a standoff with a bull elephant and more leopards then you can shake a stick at. South Africa was truly a defining moment that changed my perceptions and this is a rare insight into my inner monologue, something that I have never opened up before."
