I was born in Belgium in 1975, grew up in Hong Kong, was educated in Hong Kong, U.K and America and am now based in London. I started to study arts when I was very young and later went to California College of Arts between 1994 and 1998. In 1998 I relocated to London and graduated from Byam Shaw School of Art in 2000. While working in London I completed an MA in Arts Policy and Management at Birkbeck College in 2003. Often I use material that I have collected and accumulated from everyday life, for example, notes, scrap paper from work, letters, leaves, flowers, newspaper, sea shells etc. These are then blended with paints and layers and layers of images and texts. Sometimes they are extremely sculptural and sometimes they are very spatial and other times they are both. They describe and express the ‘in-between’ spaces, the hybrid, the isolation, the memories and the indescribable feelings that form in urban- nomad’s life.
