Robert Cock was born in Kent in England in the nineteen fifties and enjoyed a peripatetic childhood. By the age of eleven he had lived in several English counties, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) and Bermuda. After a spell in an English boarding school in Hampshire, and a Geography degree at Liverpool University, where he met and married Judith, he followed his father's footsteps as a Chartered Surveyor. This allowed a varied career in central and local government, and currently the financial services sector. He has now retired and lives in the Welsh Marches with his wife Judith, enjoying a second youth now their two children have reached adulthood and left home. Throughout his life he has enjoyed photography as an amateur. The advent of digital photography has been a complete liberation, allowing his creative impulses freer rein than was ever the case with film and print. The work you see here is the product of that free rein and his own particular take on the world around him.
