"I took that first picture just because I had this neon light and I wanted to see how it looked and whether I could use it, lacking any more professional lighting equipment. And then, looking at the image, I really liked the mood that was created, almost as something was happening between me and the light. So I choose I wanted to capture other moments like that, with people ravished by light in various forms, all of them lonely, in a glimpse of wonder for something we relate to every day, something we know well and control, but that eventually overwhelms us."
