Two trees, one apple and one pine, grow from seedlings to full-fledged, sprawling plants in a small clearing they've always shared. The apple tree watches her seasonal changes take place and feels superior to the pine tree, who remains the same all year, at least in her opinion. She doesn't see his value, especially because she can't see his best season, winter, because she falls asleep.
