He just retired from the Buffalo Fire Department.



She just concluded a summer adventure that featured, rather unpredictably, riding bikes, washing dishes, encountering wild boars, and walking around Puglia.



Here father and daughter come together for a high-energy tour of Italy, getting to know the intensity and “heat” of the Mezzogiorno, the beauty of Palermo, Napoli, Roma, and Venezia, and the homey comforts of Bologna. They wander among Roman ruins at Agrigento and Pompeii and hit the beach at Cefalù. They taste la cucina siciliana in Mussomeli, the real pizza napolitana at Gino Sorbillo’s, la pasta all’amatriciana at a Roman trattoria, and cappellacci alla zucca in Ferrara. And they eat gelato everywhere.



It’s a fascinating, beautiful, and downright fun trip. And who better to share it than Dad and Leah?
