Through bold moves of Reinterpretive Subtraction this thesis is exploring Interdependence between Old and New. New Architecture emphasizes repurposed materials, daylight, and orientation to wind and sun. The transformation of Virginia Tech’s power plant into an Energy Education Facility will serve as the site to make evident the definitive moves of New Architecture.
