While looking out at the vast expanse of ocean beyond our home on Eden Road, I often think of the popular anthem that we all learned in school, America the Beautiful, and how the words, including “from sea to shining sea”, describe simply and beautifully, the geography of this country – a magnificent landscape bordered on the east and west by an equally magnificent, shining sea.

These photographs were all made between 2002 and 2007, at different times of day, from the same vantage point on the shore.
