Über das Buch
This book is essentially a pictorial montage of all aspects of the life of the Dotterel recorded by myself over almost a couple of decades, from the western Brecon Beacons in South Wales, the Cumbrian Pennines in northern England, the Highlands of Scotland and Finnish Lapland in the high Arctic.
Over 350 colour photographs with black and white sketches cover spring and autumn passage, together with many birds located and nests found during hard days on the high tops. The opportunity has also been taken to feature Dotterel predators and other montane and upland species encountered by the Dotterel in its daily life.
'Dotterel Days' is altogether a fascinating record illustrating the life of the bird in quality photographic landscape format.
All photographs of Schedule 1 birds in the UK featured in this book were taken under license from the relevant authorities.

Über den Autor
Born and bred in the South Wales valleys, my interest in natural history and birds in particular began at an early age. By my mid 20's the status of the local Peregrine Falcons led to me creating the South Wales Peregrine Monitoring Group with a small number of fellow enthusiasts involved in researching the breeding ecology of the species under license. I first became acquainted with the Dotterel in the mid 1990's and quickly fell under its spell. In fair weather and foul, with camera to hand, I subsequently sought the bird on passage and on its breeding haunts in the high mountains, not only in Britain but also on a never to be forgotten trip to Finnish Lapland where breeding was confirmed and a nest found.
