I got the idea for these books from my boss. He went on three trips to Antarctica and compiled the pictures from the trips into a book for anyone who wanted one. I thought it was a great idea. I started compiling recipes when I was a little girl. Now, I didn't cook all the recipes I collected. One day I was trying to combine all my recipes and decide which ones we liked and didn't like and I just ended up with 3 notebooks of recipes. As I was doing this I realized I had some great recipes that I used to make! Hailey had asked for some that she had loved from her child hood. I thought it would be a great keepsake and wedding gift if I talked to each relative and asked them to contribute their favorite recipes to her book. It was a success although it was a lot of hard work. It was fun. When it came time for Shena to graduate, I decided to make another book for her to have to start her life with easy recipes that she could make. I hope they both liked them!
