“Don’t you ever wish you were a kid again?”

With his wife out of town on business for ten days in May of 2012 , photographer Chris Suspect was left to tend to his two children, aged two and six, without any assistance from friends or family. For the first time he was faced with the challenge of filling his wife’s shoes by keeping the house in order, getting the kids to school, making sure they were fed and put to bed, and caring for their emotional and physical well-being.



Suspect’s goal was document the joys, trials and tribulations of what it would be like for a single father raising two. His lens primarily focuses on the emotional states of his children with an occasional image to provide situational context. There are no arranged or posed shots contained within, just photographs that attempt to give a personal, heart-felt and, at times, brutally honest answer to the question above that was posited by his son during this period.
