A dissertation looking at the meteoric rise and eventual decline of the Working Men's Club (WMC) movement. The work includes a historical account of the WMC's, data which looks at reasons why they are currently in decline, accounts of local social clubs in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and interviews with people concerned with the movements direction.
