I've lived on Vashon Island since 1979, but have been doing photography of one sort or another since I was in high school, which was a long time ago. After working as one of the founding Vashon Island Potters from 1979 until about 1988, I went off to commuter-land for almost 15 years. In 2003 it was time for that to end. I came back to the Island full-time, worked for the Vashon Island School District for six-and-a-half years (five-and-a-half on the playground at Chautauqua, which is how I know so many kids, even now) and started doing digital photography in earnest. In 2009 I quit working for the school district and began photography full-time. Now shooting Vashon Island High School sports and graduations, the big Vashon Island events (Strawberry Festival, Engels Car Show, Vintage Motorcycles, Halloween, Oscar Night on Vashon) and putting my photography up on my web site, www.FinchHaven.com.
