Über das Buch
Gateways
I've always loved gates. Apart from being aesthetically beautiful the story of all those who have passed through them over the ages intrigues me.
They are also symbolic ... gateways ... marking a transition from one space to another, moving forwards, opening one door, closing another, passing into new pastures, entering a new phase of life, love, birth or death ... some gateways we choose, others we walk by and leave unopened, some we seek, others we find by chance, some remain hidden and some we are forced through against our will and the consequences of all these things unfurl in our future.
I like gates.

Leitrim, Ireland
I live in rural Leitrim with my children at Sallygardens Smallholding where we are immersed in an inspiring landscape full of natural and manmade beauty. I find many life lessons are offered through nature and the beauty of the world around me. During a time of great change in my life gateways which had previously simply been beautiful pieces of work then presented one such life lesson and provoked me to think about the various gateways we encounter throughout our lifetime. All of the gates in this book can be found around Ireland.
