Jamie Tracy received his BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art and his MFA from School of Visual Arts. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art and Curriculum Coordinator in Florida. Tracy's photographs are a hybrid of painting and photographic principals. The non-representational language of painting meets the traditional realism of photography in a conflict that reaches a sensible conclusion within the picture plane. He finds his inspiration from everyday life and events. The titles of the photographs are treated with great importance as they are often the single link between the color fields and texture to the tangible world and his experiences.
