Über das Buch
About this collection:
I wanted to challenge my self and my clients to think about photographic portraiture differently to how it has been conceived traditionally. I wanted to show that portrait photography could be more pictorial and visually exciting and something we would be proud to hang on our walls. I wanted to produce images we could all be comfortable with, especially where most of us dread the process and are rarely happy with how we appear in photographs. I wanted to explore a style of photography that made everyone look good because it is not about glamour and retouching, but about who we are and why we are loved and who we love. I wanted to tell a story about relationships and being with someone who matters to us and influences us most, and about how values and ideas are passed through the generations. I wanted to capture portraits that express more than simply what we look like today. I wanted to capture iconic or archetypal moments that represent how we want to be remembered and communicate ideas to both the participants and to all viewers. I wanted to be able to look at the collection of portraits and learn something new. I also wanted to show how portraiture could be truly enjoyable.
