The 2011 UNM Summer Abroad brought twelve students and two professors to the heart of European architecture. For three weeks we made our home in Vico Morcote, Switzerland -- a historic hillside town rich with old and new architecture alike.



From our homebase at the International Institute of Architecture Villa we took many trips, ate many meals and absorbed the European culture as much as we could. Through sketching, photography, and writing we gained a new perspective on culture, place, and what it means to be an architect in the 21st century.



As a whole, the trip provided an incredible opportunity for each of us to study the world of architecture outside of New Mexico. This is the documentary of our travels.
