Über das Buch
I've lived in the Springfield area for almost 60 years and not once did I ever see the train station until 2011. I've worked next to it for the past seven years and can see how the buildings have deteriorated over the years. I decided to try and photograph the train station and surrounding area and was shocked to see how rundown the structures were. The only modern structure was the Amtrak building. This part of the city could be a focal point for downtown revitalization if someone had the vision and finances to develope the area. This literally is the crossroads of Western Mass. This book hopefully will show the neglect over the years and also the potential for building a better Springfield.

My name is Richard A. Marszalek. I’m currently a CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) living in Western Massachusetts. I’ve been an avid nature photographer hobbyist for many years and someday would like to do it professionally. I’m married to a wonderful woman who shares in my enthusiasm of nature photography. I take the pictures, and she does all the scrapbooking and journaling. We have two cats named Spats and Guinness who are also photographed quite often. I hope you enjoy my work as it pertains to nature’s beauty and sometimes it’s devastating power. Only GOD could make something so beautiful, intricate, mysterious, and powerful.
