Give Me Shelter is a book I created to honor the amazing dogs at the Dutchess County SCPA.



If you love dogs as much as I do, and you love seeing what makes each one special, then this is the coffee table book for you.



The mission of the Dutchess County SPCA, a no-kill, non-profit organization in Hyde Park, NY is to rescue, shelter, and secure permanent homes for adoptable companion animals, advocate for the highest standards of animal care, and enforce animal cruelty laws throughout Dutchess County.





I created Give Me Shelter after spending four years as a volunteer here getting to know each dog and capturing their personalities and quirks. I combined my love of photography and dogs to help tell their stories—so that everyone who gets a copy can be the voice of animals in need.



Animals come to the Dutchess County SPCA for a variety of reasons – (divorce, financial woes, etc), all of them sad. Through photos and text, Give Me Shelter shows the joy and hope of the remarkable journey to a new life.



Give Me Shelter is a great reminder and tribute of all of the reasons why we care about shelter animals. It’s a book that any dog lover would adore. All proceeds from your purchase of Give Me Shelter go to the Dutchess County SPCA.
