Religion is something we experience within our every day lives. As inspiration for this project I chose Matthew chapter 6 Verse 24. As I pondered the phrase "No one can serve two masters," I began to think of sadomasochism and the idea of one person being inferior to the other. The strict hierarchy of both religion and sadomasochism is voluntary, unlike forced superior/inferior relationships such as those that exist in prisons. We are not forced to take part in religion; instead, we choose whether or not take part in it. In a way we all of us that choose religion are masochists and God is the one who gives us the pleasure we seek.
