Red Centre in summer.... what were we thinking? After looking at our options for a last minute holiday the lure of the rock and all the other marvellous outback locations were just too great. Anyway we come from Queensland and we’re used to warm days. After a few online sessions we’d booked the Apollo Explorer 4x4, plotted our general route on Google Earth and sussed out a few places to stay and things to do along the way. We then checked out the BOM site to see what the weather looked like for the next week. The weather boffins were talking a record breaking stretch of hot weather with temps in the mid forties for the entire week we planned to spend at Yulara and Alice Springs... good thing the Explorer had air conditioning.
