“What do you mean- ‘We’re not going back?’” asked Kirsty, both confused and suspicious. “We’re going back right after Christmas- after our holiday!”



“No, no,” said Alex. “You must have misheard. We’re not going on holiday. We’re all running away from university with all the money we could get and we’re going to live in Tuscany.”



And so begins the madcap adventures of five students from Durham- Kirsty, Alex, Sarah, Tom and Chris. After a few initial hiccups, they begin to relax and enjoy their newfound freedom. However, things begin to go badly wrong when Chris embarks on a very honourable and respectable liaison with the daughter of a local mafia boss.



Thus follows a hair-raising tale of cunning plans, hasty escapes, surprising entrepreneurship, kidnaps, disguises, mafia collusion, close encounters with lions and spoofs of ‘The Sound of Music.’



When their idyllic plan is badly upset, our heroes are forced to use every ounce of their initiative and skill- even skills hitherto unsuspected. In a true test of friendship, they are made to consider their priorities in a series of adventures sometimes terrifying, sometimes surreal, but always entertaining.
