Über das Buch
The cities of the world, examined through the human states of mind, reveal themselves in a different and more intimate dimension. Loved or hated, too much unreliable, evasive, impersonal, alien and hostile cities or, on the contrary, perfectly fitting like a glove, the cities are described in an unusual way, not enhancing their qualities nor reducing them to simple containers of lives. Here we have ordinary and visionary stories of misery and noble-mindedness, wealth and decay, need and insensitivity. Many cities to describe just one, without borders or distinctions. Just life. The EKG graph describes the "life beat". Whose? It is not important. It is a line whose width varies like a city's skyline viewed from afar.
