Über das Buch
After relocating from New York City to North Texas, Michael Galluccio began photographing the landscape around him: highways, architecture, weather, open sky and the ordinary structures of everyday life. At first, the camera was a way of searching for something familiar. Over time, the repeated act of looking began to change the relationship between photographer and place.
The roads stayed the same. The buildings stayed the same. The Texas sky remained enormous. What changed was the person looking at them.
Photographed entirely on an iPhone, Structure and Belonging traces that shift across Dallas–Fort Worth, using the ordinary landscape as both subject and record. Part photobook and part visual memoir, it considers what happens when attention becomes a practice: how familiarity develops, how beauty is learned, and how looking closely can become a form of belonging.
For anyone who has ever arrived somewhere new, felt out of place, or discovered that home can be something we learn to see. ad
