Mark is a poet, photographer, and advocate whose work explores the intersections of brain health, memory, identity, grief, mental illness, homelessness, and the enduring beauty of life. Living with cognitive challenges, Mark's creative voice illuminates the fullness of the human experience. As a leader in the Dementia Action Alliance, an outreach initiative of The Eden Alternative, and as a collaborator in creative initiatives with DanceStream Projects, Mark brings a spirit of openness to every project he touches. His poetry and photography offer a way to foster understanding, connection, dignity, and well-being within the dementia community and beyond. He strives to change the tragedy narrative of dementia to one of hope and purpose. When he is not writing or behind the camera, Mark can be found engaging with supportive communities, sharing his lived experience and encouraging others to embrace their own stories with courage and grace. He currently makes his home in Rockland, MA.
