Hi, I’m Barry Johnson. I’m proud to be of Northern Ontario Métis heritage, and I’ve had a lifelong passion for photography that began in the late 1970s. Back then, I shot mostly with a Nikon FM and Kodachrome film—classic tools for capturing vibrant, timeless images. I've been working on a Social Documentary Photography Project: 2018 - 2025 The Hub, Broadway and Commercial Drive, Vancouver Canada. I’ve been documenting my neighbourhood for the past 7 years and I’m absolutely loving it. An ongoing social documentary photography project dedicated to capturing the essence of life at Broadway and Commercial Drive in East Vancouver, Canada, photographs from 2018 - 2025.
