Ruth Crowe is quiet and rarely seen at her boarding school - she can only be heard with her one friend, Meg. Staying friends can be hard through crushes and gossip, but everything is pretty good for Ruth. Then after dinner one night, she falls down the stairs and wakes as a ghost!
Ruth finds that she was murdered and immediately tries to find who did it. Finding friends in a ghost girl and a ghost cat, she discovers that she was not the only person murdered. Along the way, she finds out that trust is the most important thing in a friendship.
