Über das Buch
Before my father, Angel R. Ibañez, passed away, we had plans to publish his body of work 60 years in the making, which includes photography projects and fine art drawings in book form. As the founder of SVA's bookbinding lab in the Digital Imaging Center, he spent years teaching students how to turn their art portfolios into professional books. Though he helped countless students achieve their dreams, he never got to publish his own work.
In his memory, I'm fulfilling a promise to share his legacy but first, I've written "Condolences: Recollections and Stories of Angel Ibañez Issue ONE," a collection of stories from friends and family about my father's positive impact on those around him. From Spanish Harlem to the Lower East Side, sport stories, music, art/photography and New York City life, get to know my dad who was a kind man, such a cool guy and my best friend!
Your support in purchasing this book will help me update his website and fund the publication of his art and photography books. Thank you for helping me honor his memory.

Über den Autor
Kara Mia Collier Ibañez
New York City
Born and raised in New York City Kara Mia's upbringing was unique. Shaped by her father, an Afro-Cuban fine artist and photographer, and a German/Irish American mother from Colorado who pioneered multicultural children's book illustration in America, Kara Mia's formative years in New York City's Lower East Side during the 1980s cultivated a distinct perspective and sharp intellect. Building upon her artistic foundation and deep connection to NYC, she now professionally crafts compelling narratives through photography and writing, illuminating the beauty of life with artistry, humor, and empathy.
