Über das Buch
Defrost begins where ice returns to water.
As frozen surfaces melt, flowers, seeds, leaves and air bubbles gradually emerge from a temporary state of preservation. Water becomes both a medium of memory and an agent of transformation, revealing relationships between living forms, light and time.
The photographs observe a transitional condition in which preservation and change coexist. What appears suspended and stable is already moving toward another state.
Through the slow process of thawing, Defrost explores transformation not as a sudden event, but as a continuous passage linking preservation, decay, renewal and life.
