Every year one of the four villages on the Plateua de Diesse in Canton Bern, Switzerland. In 2009 the village of Diesse (Pop.429) hosted a festival under the theme of Circus. The book records the setting up of the tent and the many restaurants run by local societies; the Friday evening cabaret, the Saturday circus school for the children and a circus show in the evening. On the Sunday morning there was an ecumenical service with specially composed songs on the circus theme, followed in the afternoon by the parade. The next day the tent was taken down leaving only a mark on the field.
