Kenzie Heard found her passion in teaching and art leading her to earn two bachelor’s degrees one in Fine Arts and the other in education from Western Carolina University. She is an elementary school art teacher in Georgia, where she lives with her two cats. In her free time she loves to paint, draw, and read. She created an art project about color mixing for her young K-1 students and then came up with this story to go along with the color theory lesson. A Colorless Caterpillar is her first published book.
